As Jordan Spieth’s quest for a first victory since 2017 came up short once again, Daniel Berger holed a major eagle putt on the 72nd green to land the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am trophy.
Having closed his third round 24 hours earlier with a double-bogey seven after pushing his drive out of bounds, Berger arrived on 18 alongside Maverick McNealy, the clubhouse leader at 16 under par, tied for the lead.
But Berger took full advantage of the tees being moved up for the final round when he played a perfect 250-yard second to 30-foot shot, and the putt had just enough momentum to meet its destination as he finished with a seven-under-65 grandstand.
