Over the weekend, Titleist players collected three more victories. This has advanced the season-long win count of the brand to 137. The first victory belongs to Erik van Rooyen, who has claimed his first European Tour title. The South African player competed against Matt Fitzpatrick and won the Scandinavian Invitation. This was a close-win, but van Rooyen did it – he said that “This is too hard to describe. I was very nervous at 18. But my job was hitting one shot at a time and I did it. I am proud of myself.”
The second victory belongs to Jin Young Ko, who has won CP Women’s Open by 5 shots. This is the fourth win of Ko in 2019, who also holds the title of being the first LPGA player to play a bogey-free, 4-round tournament. Ko also earned a 337.500 USD prize with this win. And the third victory goes to Ockie Strydom, who has won the “Vodacom Origins of Golf” tournament at Sishen Golf Club. He was a runner-up 11 times, so this victory was not a surprising one. Strydom said that “I have worked hard for this and this result is awarding me for that work – my confidence is sky-high now”.
